Q. Why are we requested to take
sponsorship training if we have been in Emmaus for
years? A. We only ask that our community review the
sponsorship training to remind each of us how vitally important
good sponsorship is. It seems every once in awhile we have
a pilgrim whose experience on the walk is not as blessed as it
should be. Sometimes a pilgrim did not have agape letters, or
was not accompanied by their sponsor to send-off, or their
sponsor was not there for them during candlelight. Our
hope and prayer is that by training our community with good
sponsorship techniques, each and every pilgrim will feel truly
blessed by the outward flow of agape love by their
sponsor. We have seen how devastating and painful
poor sponsorship can be. Our only purpose is that each and
every pilgrim be given the wonderful blessing of an awesome,
loving sponsor.
Q. Why don't you send the
Crumbs in the mail anymore? A. We do! As a matter of
fact, our current mailing list is just over 1,300 Bread of Life
Community members. We also electronically notify more than
300 additional Community members who responded to our plea a few
years ago. Back then, the Community was asked to help
reduce the cost of printing and mailing the newsletter by
agreeing to receive the Crumbs via the internet. The
newsletter is the same no matter which way you select to receive
it . the only difference is that you must print your own copy from
the website if you choose to receive it
electronically.
Q. Who can participate in the
Saturday night entertainment?
A. Anyone is welcome to come
and participate in the Saturday evening entertainment. If you are sponsoring a
pilgrim you should not participate, especially because you do
not want to be seen by your pilgrim. Rehearsals start at 4:45 pm
on Saturday. The
performance starts as soon and the pilgrims are served. It is appreciated if
everyone helps with putting music and props away after the
entertainment. This is
all for fun and is a chance to show humor as agape to the
pilgrims. Potential
chickens, piano players and any singers are welcome to come and have
fun!
